Where to buy Sui

Sui launched its mainnet in 2023, built by Mysten Labs, a team that includes engineers from Meta's former Diem project. It uses the Move programming language and an object-centric design that lets independent transactions run in parallel, giving the network high throughput and very low fees.

That architecture targets consumer-scale apps: games, social platforms, payments and high-volume DeFi that would clog slower chains. Sui confirms simple transactions almost instantly, and its design aims to keep performance steady even under heavy load.

SUI, the native token, pays gas fees, is staked to secure the network through delegated Proof-of-Stake, and is used in governance. It has a capped supply of 10 billion, with a portion released over time on a published schedule, so circulating supply grows gradually.

As a younger layer-1, Sui is higher-risk than the established majors, but it has grown quickly and is now listed on most large exchanges, making SUI easy to buy with fiat. Its price is volatile and not guaranteed by network growth.
