Bybit climbed to the world's number-two spot by volume on the back of a fast, reliable trading engine and aggressive product velocity. For fiat buyers, it offers cards, Apple/Google Pay, bank rails including SEPA, and one of the largest P2P marketplaces in crypto, a primary on-ramp across emerging markets.

February 2025 made Bybit a case study in crisis response: North Korea's Lazarus Group stole roughly $1.5B of ETH from a cold wallet, the largest crypto theft ever. Bybit covered every customer balance within 72 hours via reserves and emergency liquidity, processed a historic withdrawal surge without freezing, and published independently verified proof-of-reserves throughout. Losing the funds was a security failure; making every user whole, in public, in real time, is the strongest solvency demonstration any private exchange has given.

Since then, it has hardened custody (new cold-storage architecture, expanded audits) and pushed regulatory coverage: Dubai VARA headquarters and a MiCA license via Austria passporting across the EEA. It exited UK retail under FCA promotion rules and does not serve the US.

Day to day, spot fees are a flat 0.10%, the coin list runs 300+ deep, and the earn/staking suite is competitive. Support is a 24/7 chat.
