OpenPayd Secures EU MiCA License for Stablecoin Services Across Europe

London-based banking infrastructure provider OpenPayd has secured a MiCA license, allowing it to offer regulated stablecoin settlement and crypto services across all 27 EU member states. The approval comes ahead of the July 1, 2026 MiCA compliance deadline for crypto firms serving EU customers.

  • OpenPayd obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license to operate across all 27 EU member states
  • The license covers stablecoin settlement, fiat on/off-ramps, and embedded banking for crypto firms
  • Approval comes ahead of the July 1, 2026 deadline when unlicensed firms must stop serving EU customers
  • OpenPayd is a London-based banking-as-a-service platform used by major crypto companies
  • MiCA is creating a unified regulatory framework, with about 200 of 1,200 firms reportedly licensed so far
