Exodus Review

Exodus has long been the best-looking wallet in crypto, and that polish is the point: it makes self-custody feel approachable. Available on desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), mobile, and as a browser extension — all syncing together — it's the rare wallet that's genuinely pleasant to use across every device. For newcomers intimidated by clunkier tools, Exodus lowers the barrier to holding your own keys.

It's a true all-in-one. Exodus supports 300+ assets across 50+ networks (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and more), with a built-in exchange for swapping between them, staking for popular proof-of-stake coins, NFT support, and fiat purchases. Standout feature: native Trezor integration, so you can manage a hardware wallet through Exodus's beautiful interface — bridging hot-wallet convenience and cold-storage security in one app. Customer support is notably responsive, a rarity in self-custody.

Two honest caveats. First, Exodus is not open-source — its code can't be independently audited, which open-source advocates consider a real drawback versus MetaMask or Trust Wallet. Second, the convenient built-in swap and buy features carry spreads that are higher than going to an exchange directly. As a hot wallet it also shouldn't hold your largest balances unless paired with the Trezor integration. But for a gorgeous, beginner-friendly, multi-device wallet with hardware support built in, Exodus is a strong free pick.

What we liked

  • Best-designed wallet; syncs across desktop, mobile, and browser
  • 300+ assets across 50+ networks
  • Native Trezor integration for cold-storage security
  • Built-in swaps, staking, NFTs, and responsive support

What to watch

  • Not open-source — code can't be audited
  • Built-in swap/buy spreads are higher than exchanges
  • Hot wallet — pair with Trezor for large holdings

Our verdict

The most polished, beginner-friendly software wallet, and the only one here with native Trezor integration. Ideal across all your devices — just accept it's closed-source, and lean on the Trezor pairing for serious balances.

Exodus FAQ

Exodus is non-custodial, so you hold your keys, and it integrates with Trezor for cold storage. However, it's a closed-source hot wallet — its code can't be independently audited, and it's internet-exposed. Use the Trezor pairing for large amounts.
